Know Fish Know Food
Collaboration with Andy Liao, Ali Alemzadeh, Ivana Low
A fish processing plant is often thought of to be an industrialized mechanical place to package and process fish. However, Know Fish Know Food is a visual model of what a traditional fish processing plant is. It showcases the interior of how local fishermen process and hand cut their fish. We want to create an awareness of why this processing plant is necessary, and what is really going on behind the scenes of processing fish. Furthermore, this plant could bring accessibility for fishermen and give them a facility to work, as well as encouraging and creating localized food. Essentially this model is a pre-stage to introduce a fish processing plant to citizens and the community, as we are trying to convey what the intentions of the fishermen at False Creek Fishermen's Wharf.
